Woah who is this?

That's me! Real! Hello! I'm Jeff (they/them, 23). You may know me as MeltingComet, Nikoback, or Chi Xu on the internet. Ever since I was 3, I've been obsessed with video games, dreaming of making my very own games myself! Years later, with the company of some amazing people, I've been doing my best to fulfill my childhood wishes as a full-time game developer!

People make video games for all sorts of reasons, but I love doing what I do because of the many people that I've gotten to hang with in the past few years of my life. I hope that my work continues to inspire the very people who keep me going every day!

I like to spend my free time hanging out with friends, going swimming, and spending 5+ hour nights at the local Round1. Some of my favorite games are Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, Outer Wilds, FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE, pop'n music, and OneShot.

What Have I Done So Far?

Before 2016, I made several small game projects and did writing for very tiny game media sites. I am currently now working as a Producer @ D-CELL GAMES for UNBEATABLE, and am also the director of SKY HOUR WORKS (developing A NIGHTMARE'S TRIP, SPACE / MECH / PILOT, and HAOxSORA =THE SKY'S ABOUND=). SKY HOUR WORKS branched out to publishing, and I've been assisting with vivid/stasis and Beatblock as those games' lead publishing producer! On top of that, I've contributed to projects like Margin of the Strange and NOISZ STARLIVHT.

FAQ

Q: What do you use for game development?

A: In the past, I used RPG Maker VX Ace for some of my projects. I currently have been using GameMaker Studio 2 and Unity for my various projects. I have also used Godot and Ren'py as well.

Q: What are you primarily good at when it comes to game development? A: Count me in for game production, design, and direction! I have experience coding, writing, and doing level design (for rhythm games and general action games) on top of that too.

Q: What are some of your inspirations?

A: Besides my good friends, I'm really inspired by works that are very emblematic of the early 2000s: FLCL, Digimon Tamers, and Persona 3. I'd also attribute additional influences from some of my projects to games/comics/movies/music like Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, OneShot, STEINS;GATE, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, Goodbye to Halos, pop'n music, and Anamanaguchi's Endless Fantasy album.
